2010 VW Golf is Golf not Rabbit...and the GTD
I wrote about the new 6th generation VW Golf due out this summer already (here, here, and here), but I have info about the upcoming model. First, it is rumored VW is not going to call the next generation Golf the "Rabbit" here in the USA. Instead, they are going to be calling it the "Golf" again. I am glad we are going to have that name back here, as "Rabbit" is a little.......not masculine.
Also, and the most exciting part, they are going to be introducing the GTD. It's a GTI with a turbo diesel. This 2.0 liter diesel engine produces 170 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. 0-60 is close to 8 seconds, but the best part is the MPG. This diesel is rated at 44.4 MPG. That's awesome.
I'm definitely wanting one. I'm not sure what the price will be, but I really like what I see...and read.
